The Big Bang Theory Rocks!

The Big Bang Theory is my favorite TV show. It’s comical genius allows those of us who were/are considered geeks to have the last laugh. The characters are all so unique and funny even by themselves. Yet, when combined, the chemistry (pun intended) is magical. I am introducing them this evening because the entire cast will be on Conan O’Brien tonight celebrating the show’s 200th episode. That being said, you will read and see a lot about The Big Bang Theory and especially Sheldon Cooper on my blog.

The basis of the show if you haven’t seen it is this:

Leonard Hofstadter (played by Johnny Galeki) and Sheldon Cooper (played by Jim Parsons) are both brilliant physicists working at Cal Tech in Pasadena, California. They are colleagues, best friends, and roommates, although in all capacities their relationship is always tested primarily by Sheldon’s regimented, deeply eccentric, and non-conventional ways. They are also friends with their Cal Tech colleagues mechanical engineer Howard Wolowitz (played by Simon Helberg) and astrophysicist Rajesh Koothrappali (played by Kunal Nayyar).

The foursome spend their time working on their personal work projects, playing video games, watching science-fiction movies, or reading comic books. As they are self-professed nerds, all have little or no luck with women. When Penny (played by Kaley Cuoco) a pretty woman and an aspiring actress from Omaha, moves into the apartment across the hall from Leonard and Sheldon’s, Leonard has another aspiration in life, namely to get Penny to be his girlfriend.

The show was released on September 24, 2007 and has won over 53 awards not to mentioned nominated 160 times. Jim Parsons won a Golden Globe in 2011 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical

In 2014 The Big Bang Theory won a Emmy’s for:

  1. Outstanding Comedy Series
  2. Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Jim Parsons)
  3. Outstanding Multi-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series
  4. Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Mayim Blalik)
  5. Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series (Bob Newhart)

An Awesome YouTube Playlist

I will leave you with a playlist from my YouTube Channel I made back in 2014. It shows only a few of the thousands of videos that will make you laugh until you are crying. These are just some of my favorites:
